80 percent of power quality problems involve sags, or temporary
reduction in voltage. Equipped with a 5 kW and 250 kW simulators, AEP can
precisely simulate any type of sag and determine how your equipment will
respond by using the portable three-phase 20,000-watt sag/surge generator and
the hand-held power harmonic analyzer.
- Portable Three-Phase
20,000 Watt-Sag/Surge Generator: The sag/surge generator is a portable
three-phase generator complete with an isolated data acquisition system. The
generator has a variable duty cycle and can inject a sag/surge from 0 degrees
to 360 degrees. This device is a complement to the arbitrary waveform generator
and will be used for on-site power quality investigations and to generate
ITIC curves on PLCs, ASDs and other equipment powered by switching power
supplies.
- Hand-held Power
Harmonic Analyzer: This piece of equipment is used in conjunction with the
sag/surge machine for on-site power quality investigations. The analyzer
measures harmonic content, power, power angle, volts and amperes. The analyzer
provides an excellent power quality toolbox in a small package.
